The undisputed heavyweight at New York City's Pride Parade: Gov. Andrew Cuomo. Thousands of people lined the parade route with signs thanking the governor for making marriage equality a reality.
On Friday, the New York state legislature voted to legalize same-sex marriage. Cuomo signed the bill late Friday night. It will become the law in 30 days. Marriage equality is now the law in states and the District of Columbia.

So happy to see someone stand up for justice and equality and it don't mean they have to marry a gay person just like we don't have to marry a woman but at least the choice is avalible for all. The funny thing is I have several straight married friends and I the disfunction in those marriages are not something to deny others from. I have gay friends that have been together longer and co-exist much smoother so again very happy to see a state as huge as NYC get on the right side of history.
