Catching up with all things Janelle Monáe ...
The High Funkstress of Fierceness performed at Thursday night's White House dinner for South Korean President Lee-Myung-bak. The President and First Lady made a special request: They personally asked Monáe to perform her hit record "Tightrope."
"President Obama and First Lady are big fans," Monáe posted on Facebook. "I'm so honored. They requested "Tightrope"!"
The White House hasn't released that video .. yet. Until then, enjoy Janelle Monáe's rousing performance of "Tightrope" and an epic close of "Come Alive" at the University of Iowa earlier this week AFTER THE JUMP ...








She is a once in a generation type artist, and I am privileged to be in the generation that lives through her career. Cannot wait to see how she changes the art of music.
