The view approaching Mount Entoto (Amharic: እንጦጦ), the highest peak overlooking Addis Ababa. Ethiopia's capital city is the third highest capital city in the world and sits at an altitude of 8300 feet.
A bit of history: Mount Entoto is a historical and cultural symbol in Ethiopia. This is where Menelik II built his palace. The mountain is also home to many monasteries.
Even more imposing are the majestic peaks of the Ethiopian Highlands on the Ethiopian/Eritrean border. Many of the peaks rise above the clouds and are taller than 15,000 feet.
It's going to take a few days to adjust to the high elevation and the time change, which is eight hours ahead of the US East Coast. But I'm doing well so far imo.

Wow...beautiful pictures. Can't wait to make the trip to Africa myself, one day. It's a shame, considering that I've been to just about every continent surrounding Africa but that's where work took me...
