White discusses his new work with Greater Than AIDS in a new interview with the Black AIDS Institute. "Magic Johnson is one of my real-life mentors," says the actor. "My father's an NBA multiple All-Star--Boston Celtics, played against Magic, is friends with Magic. And when I was a kid, Magic announcing that he had HIV really shifted my perception of who it affected."
White is also featured in a new video raising HIV/AIDS awareness by Greater Than AIDS. This expands upon the video that debuted earlier this month that features more than 60 Black celebrities. "Education beats fear every time," says the actor. "So the more we can empower people to learn their status, they will. .... This isn't a death sentence."
