New polling by ABC News/Washington Post finds more Blacks now support marriage equality than the general population.
The new poll finds "strong" support for equal marriage from 53 percent of Americans. Fifty-nine percent of Blacks want to legalize same-sex marriage and 65 percent favor President Obama’s position. The data is "a new high among African-Americans in ABC/Post polls, up from four in 10 in recent surveys to 59 percent now," adds ABC News.
Another first: The number of Americans who "strongly" support same-sex marriage (39 percent) outweighs the number who "strongly" oppose it (32 percent).
The new polling comes about two weeks after President Obama's historic announcement supporting marriage equality. The NAACP also announced its support for equal marriage rights last weekend. Two words: Leadership. Matters.

AND SO THERE!!!
We REALLY need to be VIGILANT and watch the ENTIRETY of Black America, INCLUDING LOTS OF BLACK CHURCHES, who are and have been LOUD, PROUD AND STRONG supporters of Marriage Equality AND Equal Rights.
Stop shining the light on our haters and we'll see how many supporters we have and then MAYBE we'll get up and get on with the REST of our lives instead of just being weighed down by being gay all day.
As Mondo said on PROJECT RUNWAY last season:
"IT'S MY LIFE AND I'VE GOT THINGS TO DO!"

This is very encouraging news, Rod. And, of course, your blog is the always the FIRST PLACE (and sometimes the ONLY PLACE) where you can get this kind of positive news about Black folks.
All the other Gay blogs want to talk about is Buju Banton, Robert Mugabe, Reverend Harry Jackson, and Will Smith slapping Ukranian men for trying to kiss him. (Well, Will will have to slap me because if I ever get near him I'm going to try to kiss him...atleast kiss one of his four cheeks).
