Friday's edition of MSNBC's The Ed Show was required viewing. The guest host was the Rev. Michael Eric Dyson, the brilliant author, radio host and professor of sociology at Georgetown University. Dyson slammed the "hypocritical and homophobic" Black pastors who been in meltdown mode ever since President Obama's historic announcement in support of marriage equality.
"Black leaders of faith should not use the Bible to suppress the rights of LGBT community just like the Bible was used to suppress the rights of Black Americans," said Dyson.
If Black pastors tried to "take all the gays out of the Black church, there wouldn't be a Black church," said the reverend. "And I never heard of any pastors refusing tithes from gay people."
Dyson tweeted before the show aired that he would "go in HARD" on the Black church. Yasss! Bring a church fan, a tambourine and WATCH AFTER THE BREAK ...

I love the Hip-Hop Reverend. He speaks the truth and doesn't care who he offends to do so.
