"Coming Together" is a beautiful new short film on love and marriage equality created by Frankfurt, Germany-based filmmaker Alexander Sinclair. The video shows two families coming together to celebrate the commitment of two young men.
What makes the video unique is that it is created from a cosmopolitan, Afro-German perspective. The short film depicts many Afro-Germans in everyday life, including the young man at the center of the film. That POV is rarely seen in the United States. It's also notable that filmmaker uses a clip of President Barack Obama's historic announcement on equal marriage.
Germany boasts nationwide anti-LGBT discrimination laws and registered partnerships for same-sex couples. The ruling conservative Christian Democratic Union/ Christian Social Union opposes marriage equality.
The film was lensed in Frankfurt and Mannheim. Watch AFTER THE JUMP ...
