In today's must-see-video: Denver Nuggets power forward Kenneth Faried comes out to support civil unions and marriage equality because he has two moms. The videos are from One Colorado. Watch them AFTER THE JUMP ...
"No one can ever tell me I can't have two mothers," Faried says in the video, sitting between his two moms Wahasan and Waddia. "Because I really do."
Faried says he was raised by the two women who have been together for 11 years. The women say they were "married" in New Jersey in 2007 but apparently this was a civil union. Faried's birth mother Waddia also has lupus and says the protections of a civil union "have helped [Wahasan] care" for her over the years.
Love, love, love. This is such a beautiful story. In the first video, Kenneth Faried introduces his two moms and talks about the importance of equality. In the "uncut" version, the baller also shares his own process to accept his lesbian moms and how the couple met. Watch them AFTER THE JUMP ...
The Colorado Senate Judiciary Committee advanced its civil unions bill by a 3-2 vote on Wednesday. The bill now heads to the Senate.
Thank Kenneth Faried on Twitter.

Thank you!

That's an extraordinary story. I just hope that stories like this can reach the "masses" and show them that they have more in common with LGBT people than they typically think.

Thank you Mr. Faried and your two mothers. I am now a Denver Nuggets fan and a Faried fan for life.

Oh My God. I'm in tears. This is
truly "a game changer." Ironically in the Black community many grow up with "two mothers" in terms of birth mother and grandmother, not to mention aunts and your mother's best friend. If we can let the gay/lesbian angle go.
