Allyson Robinson, the first transgender staff person at the Human Rights Campaign, takes to Twitter to report the events at last night's vigil for Ty'lia "NaNa Boo" Mack. Washington D.C. police are offering a $25,000 reward for the person who fatally stabbed the 21-year-old transgender woman in broad daylight.
Transgender activist Mara Kiesling adds: "Pouring rain. Large crowd. Beverly, her mother is very strong."
Newschannel 8 reports the "DC transgender community is "outraged" after Wednesday's incident. A witness tells the Washingtom Blade that NaNa Boo and a friend, who was also stabbed, were attacked as they were walking to a drop-in center for transgender youth.
