President Obama appeared last night on The Late Show with David Letterman. After a brief and amusing exchange about the President's physique, the talk show host asked POTUS about Mitt Romney's now-infamous and "dismissive" remarks about the so-called "47 percent."
"Is this what rich guys at country clubs are talking about?" asked Letterman.
"I don't know what he was referring to but I can tell you this," said President Obama. "When I won in 2008, 47% of the American people voted for John McCain. They didn't vote for me. And what I said on election night was even though you didn't vote for me, I'm going to work as hard as I can to be your president. One of the things I've learned as President is you represent the entire country. ... My expectation is if you want to be President, you have to work for everybody. Not just for some."
