Hasselbeck: Older Women Become Lesbians Because Men are Taken

The View's Elisabeth Hasselbeck offer this priceless theory why some women come out later in life as lesbians: "Older men are going for younger women leaving the women with no one."

Joy Behar for the win: "Being gay is not just holding hands and walking through the tulips. I don't think you suddenly wake up one day and say, 'Oh, I wanted to do that.' You wanted to do it, but you were just trapped in a system that has just said, 'get married.'"

So do older men come as gay because ... the older women are all lesbians? Or there are not enough younger women available? SMH.

In related news: This afternoon, President Obama will tape a segment of The View, making history as the first sitting president to visit a daytime talk. Between Sherri Shepherd's recent comments on the "down low" and Hasselbeck wingnut sociological theories, there's plenty  to discuss. The episode will air on Thursday.

WATCH: Shepherd & Hughley Claim "Down Low" Black Men Spread HIV

The View took up the subject of the Food and Drug Administration ban on blood donations from gay and bisexual men. Co-hosting the show: The gay-obsessive D.L. Hughley, who used the opportunity to ignore the Centers for Disease Control's findings and discuss his favorite topic.

"When you look at the prevalence of HIV in the African-American community it's primarily young women," Hughley erroneously stated, ignoring the long-term and recent CDC data. "And they are getting it from men who are on the 'down low'."

Shepherd, who does not believe in evolution and believes the Earth is flat, then added: "The 'down low' is African-American men have sex with men and then have sex with their girlfriends. Or their wives. They're husbands as well. It's very prevalent in the African American community. Very!":

Is it really Sherri? Much much so than say, heterosexuality?

Ironically the discussion on black gay/bisexual men and HIV was saved by ... Elizabeth Hasselbeck, who asked, "Is it that much more difficulty to come out in the black community? Why" And former CNN reporter Thomas Roberts also reminded everyone that HIV/AIDS is often spread through heterosexuality.

After Elton recapped the segment and notes: "At least Hasselbeck bothered to ask why black men are more likely to be on the down low. Sherri and D.L. were quick to say that gay men were heavily stigmatized in the African-American community. They totally missed the irony that they were doing the stigmatizing right themselves."

WATCH: Hasselbeck Slams Adam Lambert's "Sexual Aggression"

The ladies of The View took on Adam Lambert's controversial pan-sexually charged performance at the American Music Awards, which attracted some 1,500 complaints.

After Sherri Shepherd graphically described Lambert's performance—"He was sticking his finger between the legs of his dancers! I can't show you what he did" she tsked tsked—right-wing babe Elisabeth Hasselbeck slammed Lambert's "sexual aggression": "Subjectively ... there seemed to be a sexual aggression that came across in the performance. Does anyone know what song he sang? Does anyone remember what he sounded like? Because let me tell you this, this is the mistake Adam Lambert will make time and time again. We will not remember him as a performer or someone with a voice if he continues to do things like this. He will smarten up and sing."

In related news: Adam Lambert's Good Morning America performance, scheduled for tomorrow, has been canceled because of his act at the AMAs CBS' The Early Show reportedly gladly scooped the Idol star. #ShameOnYouABC quickly trended to the second most popular topic on twitter.
