At the height of Friday evening's rush hour, an estimated 300 LGBT New Yorkers participated in a "Flash Mob: Homophobia Kills Die-In" at New York City's Grand Central Terminal. The flash mob activists conducted the civil protest at the nation’s busiest transit to raise awareness to anti-LGBT violence, hate crimes and the recent LGBT youth suicides.
Two of the demonstration's organizers were arrested by Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police and charged with misdemeanor obstruction of pedestrian traffic, reports Gay City News. ''The two were given desk appearance tickets and quickly released."
