Not everyone at Made in Brazil is pleased with the cover—some do not like Oraine and others believe the magazine waited too long to debut a black cover model. The blogger and fashion stylist disagrees: "Oraine may be the first black model
on the cover, but DOM has included black or ethnic models in most of
its issues since it launched a year and a half ago. The magazine has
already featured model portfolios on different ethnic backgrounds, and
published a story with Asian-Brazilian models last month. Leandro Okabe, of Asian descent, has posed for the
cover of the magazine a year ago."
