There are promising new developments in the murder investigation into the brutal murders of the Houston lesbian couple Crystal Jackson and her girlfriend Britney Cosby. Cosby's missing SUV has been discovered, reports the Houston Chronicle.
A 2006 Kia Sorento, owned by Britney Cosby, who was killed along with Crystal Jackson, was found [March 17] in a vehicle storage lot in the 13500 block of Conklin in Houston, said officials with the Galveston County Sheriff's Office, who are investigating the deaths. ... A Houston Police Department officer who was at the storage lot working on an unrelated investigation found the car. ... The SUV previously had been recovered from [a] parking lot.
Crime scene unit technicians have reportedly recovered "blood evidence" from the vehicle, adds BuzzFeed.
The bodies of Crystal Jackson and Britney Cosby were discovered behind a convenience store dumpster in nearby Port Bolivar on March 7. Authorities say Cosby died from blunt force trauma and Jackson was shot to death. The couple had been together for two years. Both women were 24-years-old.
Britney Cosby's father has been arrested in connection with the homicides. James Larry Cosby is accused of tampering with evidence—"specifically tampering with human corpses,"reports CBS Houston. Police suspect that Cosby killed his daughter and her girlfriend in the house that he shared with them. Police also believe that Cosby had an accomplice "based on video surveillance." Prosecutors expect to upgrade the charges to capital murder in several weeks. The recovered SUV may yield evidence that will expedite the charges.
This is an awful story on so many levels. My thoughts and prayers to the families.
