WATCH: Howard Stern Prankster on FOX News: "Jamie Foxx is a C--t"

Classy. An infamous Howard Stern super-fan pranks FOX News during live coverage of the deadly West Virginia mining accident. The prankster called the fellow Sirius Radio host Jamie Foxx the "C word", an escalation of the on-air feud between Foxx and Stern.

The trickster known as Captain Janks was introduced by anchor Shepard Smith as "Richard Kendrowski," a spokesperson for "the energy company. When asked to share information about the massive explosion that is now known to have killed at least 25 miners and trapped others, the prankster exclaimed: "We've learned that Jamie Foxx is a c**t and that Howard Stern rules."

"That's unfortunate," Smith quickly interjected. "It's never happened to us here but it's always distressing when there are six people killed at a mine disaster and we're waiting for 21 others to find out whether they are alive or dead and something like that sneaks by our screeners. Disgusting."

The Foxx-Stern feud began over comments Stern made about "Precious" star Gabourey Sidibe's weight. Stern suggested several times that Jamie Foxx is gay, which the actor denies.

So very typical of the Howard Stern fanboyz to use the death of dozens of mine workers for a juvie prank. SMH.

Jamie Foxx: I'm NOT Gay

The Jamie Foxx-Howard Stern on-air war of the words (and microphones) escalates. Over the weekend, Foxx denied he was gay after fellow Sirius Radio host Stern graphically suggested otherwise. Stern said on-air earlier last week:

"He seems to want to start in with me. He says we're playing for the same team. I don't know what team he's on but it ain't my team ... I gotta sh-tload of stuff on Jamie which isn't a lot of fun. Even the name change to Jamie Foxx. It's interesting that he chose the name 'Jamie'. ... It seems like he wants to get some attention for his channel the Foxx Hole. Which is an interesting name, too. The hole. I wonder which hole they're referring to? How many holes are in Jamie? He's got an ass and a mouth. I don't know what he does with them. "

And on Friday, this response from Foxx: "I'm not gay. A lot of people say that I'm gay and that doesn't bother me because I could eat a pizza in a male shower and not feel anything because I'm secure with myself. And I'm not gonna take that, Coward Stern. I'm not gonna take that from a person who has chronic gonorrhea."

WATCH: "We Are the World 25" Debuts During Vancouver Olympics

During last night's opening ceremonies of the Vancouver 2010 Olympics, "We Are the World: 25 For Haiti" made its premiere to millions around the globe. It's the updated version of the 1985 charity single that will benefit relief efforts in earthquake-stricken Haiti. More info here.

The new version of "We Are the World" has a completely different cast than its predecessor. Only a digitized version of the late Michael Jackson remains, with his sister Janet singing along to his vocal tracks from the original. The sound is ... current and unfortunately most of the singers voices are Auto-Tuned. One of the highlights: Nicole Scherzinger and Jennifer Hudson harmonize and then J-Hud delivers a powerhouse performance on the verses originally performed by Stevie Wonder.

More than 80 artists participated. Jamie Foxx continues to channel the late Ray Charles, who was at the session 25 years ago. LL Cool J, Busta Rhymes, Kanye West and Mary J. Blige have solos. Lil Wayne and Vince Vaughn (srsly) make appearances, too.

The track was never one of my favorite songs in the 80s and this version still doesn't terribly impress me. But anything to help raise money or awareness for Haiti is a good thing. Love to hear your thoughts. Watch the version that debuted last night WHEN YOU JUMP ...

Jamie Foxx Hangs (and Bulges) Left at the Country Music Awards

Jamie Foxx put on quite a show at the Academy of Country Music Awards Artist of the Decade All Star Concert in Las Vegas. While he was on stage singing "You Look So Good in Love", many in the audience were thinking "You Look So Good Hanging Left."

Not sure was Jamie going commando that night ...

Neighborhood Inaugural Ball: The Evening in Pictures

The Neighborhood Inaugural Ball is now airing on ABC.  The guests include Beyonce, Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige, will.i.am, Mariah Carey, Shakira, Sting, as well Rod 2.0 boldface names such as Queen Latifah, Alicia Keys, Sean "Diddy" Combs and the very! straight! Jamie Foxx. (What "neighborhood" was this, DuPont Circle?) Nick Cannon is the DJ.

The Obamas had their first dance as Beyonce performed her cover of the Etta James' classic "At Last." This was a beautiful moment. Some pictures from the ball ...

A "Supreme Dream"

The Dreamgirls cast is all smiles at the Martinez Hotel in Cannes ... possibly because audiences and critics are loving the weekend presentation of a 20-minute rough cut from the film.

USA Today: "Friday night's showing of Dreamgirls, which will arrive in U.S. theaters in December, seemed to whet the Cannes Film Festival crowd's appetite for more.

Fox News: "Simply gorgeous to watch, and sumptuous to hear, the Broadway musical has been totally reinvented by [Bill] Condon."

Monsters and Critics: "As writer of Chicago, Condon solved the musical-to-screen problem by using the conceit that all the musical numbers were taking place in the minds of the characters. But in Dreamgirls, he appears to be adopting a number of different strategies. In "Fake Your Way to the Top", Eddie Murphy as a performer with similarities to James Brown and Jackie Wilson, takes the novice performers on the road as Condon cuts between scenes illustrating the start of their building career.

Apparently the title number was the most impressive as "the camera swirls around the performers as their act matures and their gowns get glitzier."

There's an interesting profile of Jamie Foxx in the Sunday New York Times. The Oscar-winning actor covers the Style Magazine and the editorial is stunning, featuring the Oscar-winning actor in a killer Prada suit and cotton tuxedo shirt by Ike Behar. The shadows and lighting—especially the blues and blacks—offer a retro, film noir quality. It's perfectly in tune with Jamie's current project: Wrapping the film adaptation of Miami Vice. Foxx's television interviews tend to be manic; thankfully, in print he comes across much more reflective and serene. Lynn Hirschberg caught up with the actor at a Miami recording studio. Her description of a Frank Sinatra-esque Jamie melt like butter on a hot dinner roll:

Foxx sits at the piano and begins to improvise. "This is my first love," he says to no one in particular. "I played in church when I was a kid, and I had a preacher who told me: 'Don't kill yourself trying to get to heaven. Enjoy life."' Foxx starts to croon. "You don't have to be a saint on earth," he sings. "It won't do you any good."

We Are Your Dreamgirls

This week, director Bill Condon began lensing Dreamgirls, which may be the most eagerly-anticipated movie of the year. The Dream Works studio has finally released a new trailer and there's also a wonderful behind-the-scenes featurette which you can either view online (Quicktime, WMP or real Player) or download in iPod and PSP formats.

Above, left to right, the stars are Anika Noni Rose, Beyoncé Knowles and Jennifer Hudson. Let's go behind the scenes and meet our Dreamgirls ...

Jennifer Hudson has the legendary role of Effie White. "I'm so grateful to have done American Idol and now Dreamgirls," Jennifer says in the featurette. "If it wasn't for Idol, I wouldn't be here today." We're glad that Jen Hudson has landed such a plum role, a sure shot to stardom. Unfortunately, it's almost impossible to step into a role like Effie because so many people are asking the same question: How will it sound? Of course, "it" being Jennifer Holliday's And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going, the show-stopping anthem that still brings to tears to the eyes of almost everyone who hears it. But there's no comparison to Ms. Holliday, so let's just look forward to the Hudson version.

Beyoncé Knowles is Deena Jones, the glamorous second string singer who becomes the star of the new and improved girl group, The Dreams. (Sounds familiar?) Ms. Knowles is looking incredibly fabulous here. In the interview, Beyoncé says that this role is the dream of a lifetime. "We finally put the wigs on and the makeup and we feel like it's really. It's something that we all wanted so badly and it's here."

Anika Noni Rose is Lorrell Robinson. Sorry, no behind-the-scenes q&a, but most of us know the girl who is a perfect size one with the voice of much larger gospel or R&B star. Her most impressive Broadway credit has been in Caroline or Change. But for the few hundred people who saw the movie musical bomb From Justin to Kelly, you should recognize her as Kelly Clarkson's sidekick.

Now the boys. Academy Award winner Jamie Foxx is Curtis Taylor, the ambitious young manager who offers The Dreamettes the role of a lifetime and molds them into crossover hits. You can just see Jamie eating this role up; he looks great, has tremendous presence, gives you that old skool cat-daddy vibe, and, sure, he can (kinda) sing.

Eddie Murphy is James "Thunder" Early, the headliner for whom The Dreamettes sing backup. They eventually outgrow him and become The Dreams. At this point, no plans to cast Eddie's "best friend" Johnny Gill, although we're sure that there's a part for him in here somewhere.

Last but certainly not least, the man who is making it all happen: Bill Condon. The Oscar-winning screenwriter/director also adapted the screenplay from the original Broadway book. Condon wrote and directed Kinsey and the screenplay for Chicago.

Dreamgirls hits theatres in December. Playbill has just announced that the release date will be December 22, which is a perfect time for the holidays and the upcoming awards shows. As you can tell, we'll be following the movie every step of the way. This post will be updated with more news and information, sort of a primer to the movie, but for anyone who isn't familiar with the story, the Wikipedia entry is rather thorough. Also, you've probably noticed that we now have a Dreamgirls category.

Fame comes and goes, stars rise and fall, but dreams live forever.
