Laura Bush appeared on Larry King Live last night to discuss her new book Spoken from the Heart. The former First Lady also discussed her views on abortion (pro-choice), gay rights and same-sex marriage.
"There are a lot of people who have trouble coming to terms with that because they see marriage as traditionally between a man and a woman," said Mrs. Bush. "But I also know that when couples are committed and love each other, they ought to have the same rights as everyone else."
You'll recall that last month we posted an excerpt from the book where the First Lady says she asked George "not to make gay marriage a significant issue" in the 2004 election because they have "close friends who are gay or whose children are gay."
