Start your engines, gentlemen. Your prayers have been answered! British racing car hotness Lewis Hamilton is (finally!) a single man. The Daily Mail first reported the breakup over the weekend:
The 26-year-old F1 racing driver - who is seven years younger than his girlfriend - decided to call time on their relationship because their conflicting work schedules meant they were seeing less and less of each other. The sportsman and Miss Scherzinger - who rose to fame as part of The Pussycat Dolls pop group - had been dating for four years.
The Hawaiian-born singer is part of the judging panel on X Factor USA, alongside Simon Cowell. As a result, she is based in Los Angeles, California. Hamilton, meanwhile, travels all over the world as one of the leading drivers in F1 and has a home in Switzerland.

Lewis says the X Factor supremo is one of the key reasons that his four-year romance with Nicole Scherzinger hit the skids. He reckons 52-year-old Cowell’s decision to offer Nicole a judging job on X Factor USA – replacing Cheryl Cole – put “immeasurable strain” on the couple’s relationship.

Your prayers have been answered. Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton is now a single man after reportedly kicking Pussycat Doll lead singer Nicole Scherzinger to the curb. The reason: Hamilton is not ready to settle down, reports the Sunday Mirror.
Lewis told Scherzinger about 10 days ago that their relationship of nearly two years was over and the chance of a reconciliation was not even open for discussion. A source close to the couple, who met at an MTV awards bash in November 2007, told the Sunday Mirror: "Lewis was adamant the relationship had come to an end. He was feeling under pressure to take their union to the next level and he wasn’t wanting to become engaged, get married or think about having children. He’s young, they spend an awful lot of time apart and he’s just not ready to leave his youth behind for a lifetime with Nicole."
Sources tell British tabloids that Scherzinger's desire for a wedding dress put the kabbosh on their relationship. The Pussycat Doll singer has cancelled her appearance at the upcoming F1 Rocks concert that takes place in over Formula One weekend Singapore.
Not the best of luck for the F1 champ who crashed out over the weekend—his second in as many weeks—at the Italian Grand Prix. Hamilton denied the split with his Pussycat Doll lover and told The Sun: "That is bulls--t."
Lewis Hamilton's hopes of winning the Belgian Grand Prix crashed and burn during the first lap.
The reigning Formula One drivers' champion and current championship leader Jenson Button both crashed out of the Belgian Grand Prix in a four-car pileup. The Times describes the accident: "Button lost control of his Brawn GP and spun out after he appeared to be clipped at Les Combes corner by Renault's Romain Grosjean, who also left the track. Hamilton's McLaren Mercedes also received a bump from Jaime Alguersuari of Toro Rosso and both went off at the same bend,"

More details on the employment discrimination lawsuit that alleges an anti-gay culture around the McLaren Group, the huge auto racing company whose drivers include Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton. Ron Dennis–Hamilton’s McLaren team boss, seen above–is described as a racist and a homophobe.
Peter Boland, the former private jet steward to Ron Dennis, paints an unflattering portrait in testimony that began this week. The Telegraph:
Dennis was prone to "cultural insensitivity" of his own, as demonstrated during one trip to the Middle East.
"[A sheikh] came onboard and was offered a drink, he said he did not want a drink," Mr Boland told the hearing.
"Ron said he wanted to go to the bathroom to wash his hands because he had been shaking hands with Arabs all day."
The steward claims he was fired last year after five years' service because of "unfounded rumurs" that he was gay which he claims were spread by management. "So widespread was the belief, he said, that he was propositioned by two employees who refused to accept his denials" Boland also claims the company and private investigators tried to intimidate him against filing suit.
Boland's claims include unfair dismissal, discrimination or victimization on grounds of sexual orientation and breach of contract. Hamilton's team boss Ron Dennis is named, along with McLaren and the two companies that operated the private jet. The hearings are likely to last for "up to two weeks." Lewis Hamilton is expected to be called to the witness stand.

Lewis Hamilton has experienced a meteoric rise in fame ever since the 23-year-old sports phenomenon became the youngest race car driver and the first black to win the exclusive Formula One championship. But the newest story around the F1 champion could definitely tarnish his image. Lewis Hamilton's top employee is accused of unfairly discriminating against an employee rumored to be gay and the racing champion may be called to testify.
Testimony begins today in the potentially explosive hearings. The case involves the claims of the private jet steward to Ron Dennis–Hamilton’s McLaren team boss–that he was unfairly sacked over unfounded rumours that he is gay.

The dashing Lewis Hamilton covers the new UK edition of Esquire. In November the 23-year-old sports phenomenon became the youngest race car driver and the first black to win the exclusive Formula One championship. The interview and fashion editorial—actually more like an advertorial—is entitled "Bigger Than Beckham" and it's all about Hamilton's meteoric rise.
"Lewis Hamilton's breathtaking F1 performance have made him Britain's biggest sporting icon," writes Rory Ross. "Lewis Hamilton became an icon because of who he is, as much as for what he can do. Having grown up poor, he has scaled the summit of a rich man's sport with a speed that caught everyone by surprise."
The suit is Hugo Boss. The watch is Tag Heuer. Take a guess who has endorsement contracts for both brands.
Experts predict the 23-year-old racer will see a "hike in his salary of up to 30 million pounds" or $47.5 million a year. That's in the same ballpark as David Beckham's estimated $48 million in salary and endorsements. Nice work if you can get it,

As Americans head to the polls to perhaps make history and elect the nation's first black president, history is also made across the pond. Lewis Hamilton wins the Formula One, becoming the youngest race car driver and the first black to ever have win the exclusive championship.
The 23-year-old won the Brazilian Grand Prix with his McLaren Mercees by "only by the skin of his teeth," narrowly squeezing past Germany's Timo Glock at the finish line.
Experts predict he will see a "hike in his salary of up to 30 million pounds" or $47.5 million a year. But while the international media hype grows larger, many in the British public do not like the flashy young driver. The Times describes Hamilton as "one of the most divisive British sporting figures for a generation."
Even though Hamilton is one of a select band of sportsmen whose appeal transcends national boundaries, his handlers will be aware that continued unpopularity at home could seriously taint his global image and hamper the flow of endorsements. Has Hamilton’s race got anything to do with the problem? Although this is undoubtedly the cause of his unpopularity with a small group of Formula One fans outside Britain, particularly in Spain, where Hamilton endured racial abuse from spectators during testing in February, there is little to suggest this is in any way responsible for the coolness felt towards Hamilton by large sections of the British public.
The suggestion has been made the animosity is fueled by jealousy—Hamilton is very good looking, makes a truckload of cash, has the fastest cars, and, dates Pussycat Dolls lead singer Nicole Scherzinger. That all may be true. But it's still too simplistic to totally reject race as a factor behind much of the coolness toward the young champion. Lewis Hamilton has been a model gentleman and sportsman.
