Ghana's defender John Pantsil (L) and striker Prince Tagoe (R) step over Serbia's midfielder Milan Jovanovic during the Group D first round 2010 World Cup football match. Ghana emerged victorious 1-0 and the image illustrates how the Black Stars trounced one of Europe's football powerhouses to the first victory for Africa in World Cup 2010.
The Black Stars won on Asamoah Gyan’s (above) penalty kick in the 84th minute. LA Times: "Ghana was awarded the penalty after Argentine referee Hector Baldassi called Serbia’s Zdravko Kuzmanovic for a handball when the midfielder appeared to touch the ball accidentally while trying to head it away from Ghana’s Kevin Prince Boateng." Boateng, below, first blipped on the Rod 2.0 radar in April.
