The High Funkstress of Fierceness performed at Thursday night's White House dinner for South Korean President Lee-Myung-bak. The President and First Lady made a special request: They personally asked Monáe to perform her hit record "Tightrope."

"President Obama and First Lady are big fans," Monáe posted on Facebook. "I'm so honored. They requested "Tightrope"!"

The White House hasn't released that video .. yet. Until then, enjoy Janelle Monáe's rousing performance of "Tightrope" and an epic close of "Come Alive" at the University of Iowa earlier this week AFTER THE JUMP ...

French track phenoms Teddy Tinmar (R) and Jimmy Vicaut have a little fun after capturing silver in the men's 4x100m at the World Track & Field Championships in Daegu, South Korea.

Usain Bolt and the Jamaican team set a World record to win gold in 37.04s. France's (L to R) Christophe Lemaitre, Jimmy Vicaut, Teddy Tinmar and Yanick Lesourd were second at 38.20s. The bronze medal went to St Kitts and Nevis. Of course, all of this this was after the nightmare for US and UK track. It wasn't pretty.

SPORNO: Ashton Eaton Takes Decathlon Silver at Daegu 2011

Ashton Eaton is fit and fabulous after winning the 1,500m in the decathlon at the World Track & Field Championships in Daegu, South Korea. Eaton beat Cuba's Leonel Suarez by about 5 seconds, which secured the Oregon track phenom the silver medal.

Trey Hardee successfully defended his World decathlon title and won the gold, giving Team USA its first 1-2 finish in the event at the Worlds. More sporno and Ashton gets a facial AFTER YOU JUMP ...

VIDEO, PHOTOS: Puerto Rico's Javier Culson Wins 400m Hurdle Silver at Daegu

Viva Puerto Rico! Javier Culson won the silver medal at the hugely competitive men’s 400m hurdles final on Day 6 at the 2011 World Championships in Daegu South Korea.

Culson dominated much of the early race but later fell behind as Britain's David Greene surged ahead in the final 20m. Greene placed first at 48.26, Culson clocked 48.44 and South Africa's L.J. van Zyl won bronze at 48.80. Dominican  phenom Felix Sanchez and South Africa's Cornel Fredericks rounded out the top five.

The 27-year-old Culson was born in Ponce. Culson took silver at the Berlin 2009 Worlds and gold at the 2009 Central American and Caribbean Championships in Mayaguez. He was also one of only six track athletes who made the Puerto Rican Olympic team at Beijing 2008.

Defending World champion Kerron Clement—the 2008 Olympics silver medalist who regularly tweets his Olympic abs—was forced to withdraw from the semi-finals with an injury.

SPORNO: Cuban Decathlete Leonel Suarez Wins Bronze at Daegu 2011

Cuban track phenom slash Olympic medalist Leonel Suarez—who always looks great in a track singlet—adds yet another medal to his growing collection. Suarez won bronze in the decathlon at the 2011 World Championships in Daegu South Korea.

Suarez took silver in the decathlon at the Worlds in Berlin 2009. Suarez also won bronze at Beijing 2008 Olympics.

In other news: It's been a disappointing start for Harry AA and Team GB at Daegu. The former World junior sprinting champion was eliminated in the 100m semifinal heats after placing third. World 100m indoor champ Dwain Chambers was also eliminated in the semis for a false start.

Mohammed Farah became the first British athlete to medal at Daegu. Farah narrowly lost the gold in the 10,000m and took the silver.

SPORNO: Cuba Announces Team for World Championships in Daegu

Set your TiVos. The XIII World Athletics Championships will be held next week in Daegu, South Korea from August 27th to September 4th. Cuba has announced its sporno-tastic and testosterone heavy roster will be lead by R20 faves and Olympic medalists Leonel Suarez and Dayron Robles, according to Radio Havana and Guantanamo TV.

Along Suarez, his teammate Yordanis Garcia, javelin and runner-up in the previous event Guillermo Martínez, Victor Moya in high jump, Carlos Veliz, Misleydis Gonzalez and Mailin Vargas in shot put, Yipsi Moreno in hammer, and Yanet Cruz in javelin will also depart this week to the Korean appointment. Yoandri Betanzos ....among others, complete the official roster.

Guillermo Martínez is seen above at the 2009 Worlds in Berlin—where he famously performed a few backflips after winning silver in the javelin.

Dayron Robles won gold in the 110m hurdles at the Beijing Olympics. Robles' Olympic-sized bulge became quite the conversation topic across the internets. More recently: Robles beat hurdles super hotness David Oliver on August 5 in London. Robles, Oliver and China's Liu Xiang are expected to fight it out for the gold in Daegu.
