UPDATE: Vesta Williams Autopsy Complete, Pills Discovered at Scene

There are two updates to the death of R&B singer-songwriter Vesta Williams, whose body was discovered Thursday night in a suburban Los Angeles hotel room. The autopsy was concluded on Sunday and "the cause of death is undetermined pending toxicology results, which will take 4-6 weeks," reports TMZ.

The death may have been a drug overdose:

Multiple bottles of prescription pills were found in the El Segundo, CA hotel room where R&B singer Vesta Williams died ... law enforcement sources tell TMZ. We're told "several bottles" were discovered -- some empty. Law enforcement sources tell us officials first received a call related to Vesta's death around 6PM Thursday night. Sources tell us the death is being treated as either an accident or suicide, but not a homicide.

Vesta Williams had a string of hits in the 1980s and 1990s. The singer is best known for "Congratulations," a song about a woman who discovers her former lover is about to get married. The ballad became a staple at talent and drag shows in the 90s.

There is no information yet on a memorial or arrangements. Williams was 54-years-old.

So it had to be that I was expendable because I didn't have the right look."

The singer went on to lose 100 lbs, and got down down to a size 6, while finding something of a second career as a songwriter and session singer.

Published reports say Williams was 48 years old, but the singer can be seen in a 2010 interview saying she was 53.
