New York Fashion Week: Wendell Lissimore for F/W 2009 G-Star Raw

Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week is wrapping up and one of the hottest shows was the G-Star Raw Falll/Winter 2009 collection at the Hammerstein Ballroom. Flawlessly sculpted, high-cheekboned  model of the moment Wendell Lissimore—recently seen without clothing—was one of the stars on the runway.

The new collection by the luxury denim brand is receiving rave reviews for loose silhouette "and contrasting fabrics such as raw and heavily washed denim mixed with delicate silk and cashmere." Above is an example of the denim look and below are a few silks. Wendell Lissimore is wearing it and wearing it well.

Lots of star wattage both on the runways and in the audience. Some of the boldface names in attendance including the label's new Raw Icon Benicio del Toro, Mischa Barton, Zoe Saldana, the out performer Rufus Wainwright, Miss J. Alexander and Rod 2.0 crush object Tyson Beckford.

Wendell Lissimore Does Gucci in Russian "GQ Style"

If you can score a copy of the phone book-sized fall/winter Russian GQ Style you might be surprised to see model of the moment Wendell Lissimore—recently seen without clothing—has a full page in this killer black and white editorial. The magazine is hard to find so here is a scan. The editorial highlights minimalist monochromatic fashions and Wendell is wearing out this tailored Gucci coat and pant. It's kind of cool, if you click on the image you can see the Cyrillic copy at the bottom of the page.

Courtney Taylor and two other black models are also featured in this issue. Not surprising. With the major exception of the fabulous Flaunt, there are routinely more black male models in the European fashion magazines than their American counterparts.

Wendell Lissimore in "DNA"

On today's lunch menu ... a healthy side of beefcake. After storming the runways at Milan Fashion Week, flawlessly sculpted new model-of-the-moment Wendell Lissimore literally "sex-plodes" off the pages of the current issue of DNA. Here are some previews of the editorial lensed by ace beefcake photographer extraordinaire Troy Phillips, courtesy of Red Models.

One thing we didn't know was that the ripped-to-shreds model was packing so much fierceness on a 150lb frame. Wendell certainly has a lot of muscle in all the right places.

It's been a minute since we caught up with Wendell Lissimore, the high cheek-boned and flawlessly sculpted new model-of-the-moment. After recent editorials in OUT and British GQ, as well as working the runway for Diddy's all-black Sean John show, Wendell has become quite in-demand and was one of the top male models at the recent Milan Fashion Week. Above, a backstage photo of Wendell as he was preparing for the Hermes show. Some images from the collection below.

Wendell also walked for Paul Smith and the freakin' fabulous Thierry Mugler show, among others. News: Gabrielle Union, Dobson, Hagee, Pharrell, Domestic Violence

· Two years ago in an interview with OUT, Gabrielle Union said, "You're nobody until someone says you're gay." The actress returns to the magazine to glam it up and share some advice with the boys.

· Should rabidly anti-gay demagogue James Dobson be recognized by the Radio Hall of Fame? Truth Wins Out launches petition drive to keep the hateful Focus on the Family founder out of the museum. "It is outrageous and insulting that James Dobson would be nominated for the Radio Hall of Fame," says TWO Executive Director Wayne Besen. "We believe that character counts and nominees should have careers based on honesty and integrity—not discrimination, distorting research and outright lying."

· Huffington Post: Lawyers for anti-gay evangelical Rev. John Hagee force YouTube to remove more than 120 videos of the controversial pastor.

· Pharrell Williams to undergo exotic tattoo removal procedure "that involves growing new skin."

· Cher laughs off rumors of a(nother) quickie wedding.

· Domestic violence and gay relationships, coast to coast. Los Angeles: City Council creates subcommittee "aimed at reducing incidents of domestic violence among same-sex couples [because ] often times police officers do not know what to do when they respond to a situation that involves violence between gay and lesbian partners." New York: Gay friendly Gov. David Paterson wants to expand domestic violence law to include dating relationships.

· Kenyan Anglican bishop threatens to quit the church over same-sex marriages. The Reverend Thomas Kogo believes gay rights activists are driven by ... "desire" for money and wealth. "God recognizes marriage between man and woman, and there is no way we will accept homosexuality and gay marriages. The Bible is very clear on the matter."

· A bidding war erupts over Ivorian footballer and Rod 2.0 fave Didier Drogba. "Despite continuing rumours that Didier Drogba will be heading to Milan this summer, Chelsea's new manager is "200%" sure the phenom will remain in England. Meanwhile .... "Marseilles fans have launched an appeal to raise £22m in order to buy" Drogba's contract.

· NTSB unsure of cause of recent problem with Obama's campaign plane but investigation does "not reveal any evidence of missing components, nor any evidence of tampering."

· White House caught suppressing data on global warming.

"In a letter to Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA), former White House official Jason Burnett revealed that Vice President Cheney’s office deleted portions of the testimony of Center for Disease Control Director Julie Gerberding, who testified last year about the consequences of climate change on public health. In a press conference yesterday, Boxer charged that White House spokesperson Dana Perino had 'lied' about the rationale behind the editing of the testimony: 'As I understand it, she said, the draft information did not comport with that, the science that was in the IPCC report. This was a lie. And we proved it before. We had in the last press conference we did on this.' "

Model-of-the-moment and Rod 2.0 fave Wendell Lissimore is now the featured attraction in the new print and electronic campaign for The Basic House, the trendy South Korean department store. Here are a few pictures sent from RedNYC, which reps the high-cheekboned hottie. Can anyone read Korean?

Since it's been a little dry around here lately, it's time to spice things up with the latest hotness. It would probably be safe to say photographer Rick Day is one of the world's more luckier men. The New York City-based photographer took these new images of model of the moment and Rod 2.0 Crush Object ^TM Wendell Lissimore. Wendell—who is probably going to become the next black male supermodel—is represented by Red New York and was one of recently seen in British GQ and the recent Sean John runway show that featured all black male

RedNYC is sockin' it to you with these new models and this "black is beautiful" branding. This month there are two new major magazine fashion editorials that feature all-male, all-black models, and, many are from Red. We'll scan those and and publish tomorrow.

Photographer Walter Pfeiffer on Gorgeous Boys and Frontal Nudity

Last week on Rod 2.0, we previewed a luxe editorial in the March 2008 OUT that features model-of-the-moment Wendell Lissimore. Out.com relates the fascinating back story to the shoot behind "Wash with Like Colors" and interviews the critically-acclaimed Swiss photographer Walter Pfeiffer who has developed a cult following after mostly 30 years of obscurity.

The interview is fascinating snapshot of the photographer's aesthetic. "Pfeiffer seldom asks for frontal nudity from his gorgeous unpaid male subjects,":the profile begins, and, what "you wish were exposed is often casually hidden by an object in the subject’s hands, provoking you to fantasize for days on end. This is a cheerful tip of the hat to vintage beefcake photography."

WP: When I did the first book I said, “We have to show them.” Back then it was a really intimate thing to do. Now I see so many cocks on the Internet that I don’t know how to top it.

OUT: Isn’t this partly because of your interest in glamour?

WP: Definitely. But I’ve dreamed of showing cock in glamorous surroundings. Once I wanted to do it with this boy, and he said, “No way!” And you know how hard it would be to do this with the boys I love.

The Swiss artist says he absolutely never has sex with his models and channels Susan Sontag to rationalize his approach "Because I have so many beautiful pictures of them. And if you have the pictures, you finally have them at the point you wanted them. I only get frustrated when they say they’re not coming back after two days."

Wendell Lissimore in OUT

New York City-based Wendell Lissimore is truly becoming the model of the moment. In addition to being one of the featured faces at the Sean John's all-black, dramatic runway show that closed Fashion Week, the top model at RED is also featured in one of the special Spring fashion editorials in the March edition of OUT.

Spring showers bring spring fashions. The black and white striped cardigan is designed by a new(ish) label named Superfine. That's an accurate description of Wendell, no? The colorful bubble-quote graphic tee (below) and the turquoise "low-crotch" trousers are Burberry.

One of the bookers at RED emailed with information that Wendell Lissimore is also featured in the new British GQ. We'll bring you those scans ASAP.
