The United Church of Christ votes to support same sex marriage, becoming the largest Christian denomination to do so. About 80 percent of the members of the church’s General Synod voted to approve the resolution, but it is not binding on individual churches. The UCC is a liberal denomination of 1.3 million members, long supportive of gays and lesbians.
I'm not at all surprised by this. They already have gay churches in their denomination, and one of the finest, most intelligent preachers i've ever met (and that's saying a lot coming from me) is Rev. Jeremiah Wright from Trinity UCC in Chicago.
