That boy is so cute! I hope he comes to Windy City Pride, this year!

Bernie

I keep saying (to myself mostly, that's why nobody listens) that some enterprising producer/entrepreneur needs to put together a tour of the out gay, gay supportive and gay affirming Black recording artists and at the very least, package them to perform at the 15 or so Black Prides that take place across the country. There are singers, rappers and musicians doing hip hop, R&B, gospel and jazz. An opportunity exists to not only showcase them, but demonstrate their crossover appeal to the straight folks.

Gene

Bernie, it's an inspired idea. Hope someone picks up on it. And boy would I like to pick up RazB. That manboy is hotter than Georgia asphalt on the 4th of July.

Dwight Powell

Raz-B should be commended for not being afraid to reach out to the LGBT community. In a climate where gay bashing lyrics by hip-hop artists grow rampant, his support is truly welcomed. He is actually in talk with us here at Clik Magazine to do our March 2006 cover. So props to Raz-B for his public support of gays and lesbians.

IDiop

I'm sure brothas in-the-life would love to embrace lil' man too--yeah, from behind! But on the real, Raz B must really be hurting for some promotion if he wants to (1) be in Clik and (2) perform at some ghetto club in NE DC for homothug night. Much luv to him though. He is sexy!

naturalblkluv

I THINK HOMEBOY NEEDS TO FIRE HIS AGENT AND AS FAST AS POSSIBLE. IF ALL THE WORK HIS PEOPLE CAN GET HIM IS ON THE HOMO CIRCUIT.

THEN AGAIN, I AM GUESSING HOMEBOY HAS NO TALENT.... I MEAN THE LAST THING HE NEEDS IS GAY RUMORS SURROUNDING HIM WHEN HE'S TRYING TO MAKE A CAREER, ESPECIALLY IF HE ISN'T GAY

H.CHAMBERS

TO IDIOP (OR SHOULD I SAY IDIOT?)
AND NATURALBLKLUV (OR IS IT NATURALBLKHATER?)
WHAT IS WITH YOU TWO? YOU NEVER HAVE ANYTHING POSITIVE TO SAY ABOUT ANYONE? YOU MUST BE SO MISERABLE BEING SO SELF-HATING. I DON'T PROFESS TO KNOW MUCH ABOUT RAZ B OR HIS TALENT, BUT I DO KNOW THAT IF HE WAS GOING AROUND PERFORMING HOMOPHOBIC RANTS OR RHETORIC YOU WOULD BE SCREAMING ABOUT THAT (HOPEFULLY!!). GIVE THE GUY A CHANCE. IT IS A TOUGH ROAD TO STARDOM BUT MAYBE,JUST MAYBE HE'S A LITTLE MORE SECURE AND HAPPY IN HIS SEXUALITY THAN YOU TWO!! STOP HATING AND GET SOME MUCH NEEDED THERAPY!!!!

WillieDynamite

Good for him!

How many times have gay performers had to play "Straight" Clubs? (Johnny Gill, Tevin campbell, Intro...)

He seems open minded and I salute that. One question...Does he sing or rap? It seemed Omarion did all the singing for B2K and the guys just lip-synced the backgrounds at live events. Maybe he'll have some kind of house/Dance remix for the club

rod

Some of these comments are disheartening.

First of all, Clikque is the top gay black magazine in the country. If mainstream white actors, actresses and performers can be appear in the Advocate or Genre, then we should hope that brothers and sisters can do the same for Clikque.

Two, why put Raz down? He's supporting the community. We put so much effort into trying to crucify anti-gay actors or performers, let's embrace those who embrace us. And for all it's worth, Kanye simply said homophobia should stop ... he's yet to appear at a gay club or gay venue. Well, at least as a performer.

Some of us black lgbts have to re-learn how to focus on the positive and stop complaining so much.

Zac

Raz B is either refreshingly enlightened for a hip-hop person or is gay. He is cute, but fa real he isn't spectacular, on any given night in Detroit, LA, Atlanta, NYC, Philly, Boston, Cleveland and Dallas you can go home with his clone.

Gene

I live in the great white northeast (I can see Canada from here). I'll take 1 clone, please.

naturalblkluv

SOMEONE TOLD ME I WAS MENTIONED IN THE COMMENTS SECTION AND ITS TRUE I HAVE A FAN. IF YOU DON'T LIKE MY COMMENTS, SO BE IT, I AM A GROWN ASS MAN AND I SAY WHAT I WANT, IF ROD ISN'T COMPLAINING, I'M NOT CONCERNED. BESIDES, AM I GOING TO MARCH ALONG AND CONFORM TO SOME HOMO CODE THAT NO ONE DARES QUESTION ANYTHING HOMO IN NATURE? IN THE WORDS OF THE GREAT WHITNEY HOUSTON, HELL TO THE NAWL.

FURTHERMORE, THE LIL BOY ISN'T BUBBLING OVER WITH TALENT AND IS MAKING HORRIBLE CAREER CHOICES. DO I HAVE THE RIGHT TO COMMENT? YOU DAMN SKIPPY. ONCE HE STOPS TAKING HIS SHIRT OFF AND THE LIL QUEENS STOP PRAYING "THE OH GOD PLEASE LET HIM BE GAY" PRAYER, AND HAS TO REALLY PERFORM, YOU WILL SEE HIS TALENT. BUT THEN AGAIN, IM OLD ENOUGH TO KNOW HOW THINK WITH THE HEAD ON MY SHOULDERS AND WONT BE FOOLED BY PRETTY FACE BIG ASS AND A SMILE.

Some folks are just born bitter and think they are "telling it like it is". For those that think it is big of Raz B to perform at a gay locations with no fear, continue to support and just ignore these bitter queens. Let them rant and rage and don't feed the fire. They will eventually burn up with loneliness because no one wants to be around their bitter ass. LOL!

adam

nautralblkluv, first mistake, don't quote a drug addict as a sign of how strong you are.

this needs to be celebrated, the same exact way that Noah's Arc does. This is the only, ONLY black mainstream r&b presence around, even if to you it is third rate. "Natural"ly you should be able to see that.

And if you pay attention Rod did commetn and say he found it disheartening. That would be, uhm, a complaint.

Deciding to come out in support of soemthing incredibly demonized in your community is not a great career choice but its a much more honorable move than queening out on a webboard. Say fuck as much as you want, you sound like one of those drag queens back stage wondering who stoll her eyelash curler, guuurrrrrrllll.

You haven't mentioned anything about codes, etc. Unless your comments were to showcase the steretotype of aging queen.

I was looking at another website (dont wanna say the name of it, cuz it might be against "blog rules"), but i came across this new pic of Raz with a mohawk. He was also in a very suggestive pose, licking a cherry (looking like he's had some experience licking things)...Whether he's gay/str8/bi, i think it's good that an artist is trying to appeal to our side, as we dont see that too often, since dudes (especially blk dudes) think in order to have fans/credibility, u gotta be the toughest ni**a out there. And besides, did we really think all those boys were 100% str8? We've seen those hotel room pics...we know what's up!

taylor Siluwé

(zac) ... A Raz clone would be quite nice, but there ain't nothing like the real thing.

(naturalblklove) ... his agent, or whoever, is keeping his name out there. ain't nobody sweatin LiL Fizz's ass right about now.
You must have a very low opinion of yourself, and your sexuality, to even form you mouth to spew such nonsense. if you truly are a proud gay black man, then RAZ should be the man of the hour.

Since he's clearly not for you, w'sup? Maybe you need counseling.

October

Although I don't know much about B2K and or Raz, I'm glad to know that celebrities are embracing all audiences. I think the word I would use to identify him would be, "human-friendly", vice "gay-friendly".

Sean

I remember reading an article in one of our many "black" inspired entertainment magazines and they had an article/interview with Raz B and the topic of him performing at the gay festival came up and his response was that "it was simply a gig" (paraphrased). So all this talk about him being supportive of the gay struggle and gay rights is outlandish and unfounded. He is simply looking for more clients to buy his album and he wants money. Although, I will acknowledge that he didn't say that he despised gay people but neither did he say that he liked them or felt for their struggle. These "gigs" are merely convenient. i can't remember the magazine.

***ED. NOTE*** It's ridiculous to quote unnamed or forgotten sources. I've written Sean asking for the name of the magazine or website where the interview allegedly appeared. Obviously, all artists are trying to sell albums and make money. But if Raz B was insulting the gay community, this would be news. Rod

Tjones

The article you mentioned it was sister 2 sister magazine.

blkmuscle415

Hey I'm a writer and if anyone have contact information on how I can get in touch with Raz B. I'll do an article on him for a publication!

Kidney_Scrapa

I for onw will be at 501 on Wednesday do my normal VIP style. I plan on spending a little personal time with the brother. Mad Props to him. Great marketing/management. Don't discount the "Family" we can make ya or brake ya.

Linniec

First of all I always thought Raz B was just as cute and sexy as he can be.

I am very glad to see this young brother do his thing. Singers like User, Mario, Chingy even, Nelly, need to understand that they do have a large gay and bi-sexual male following and they need to respect that. This young man has taken it upon himself to do just that, and he's all the better in my book for it.

One thing that I've found about any man, whether famous or not, when they protest too much about something, then it's time to ask what is it they have to hide. Gay or not, Raz-B is to be commended for doing what others won't.

DARRISS TAYLOR

LET THAT BOI PERFORM WHERE EVER HE WANTS TO THE MAN IS GROWN AND HE CAN DO WHAT HE WANT TO DO AND ANY WAY RATHER ANYBODY LIKES IT HE STILL GONNA DO IT

Dexter

Sexy, sexy, sexy.

RazFanLA

I just heard that Raz is going to be a regular on "Noah's Arc" playing a gay man with HIV. He said in an interview that "he's not Gay" and that it was "just a role". He also went on to say that he was an abused kid (not much detail about what kind of abuse exactly)but that he was/is also the spokesperson for a organization in Oakland that rescues and houses these youth. End of story, I didn't even know who Raz was. But I'm always in support of my people who are proactive, doing their thing, smart, not tripping on what other people say or think and just straight up live their lives. U DA MAN RAZ! Question: If Raz were a woman, would you guys (who are tripping on the Gay Stuff) be anywhere as near bent out of shape over this kid? If not; is it that you're trippin' cuz you CAN visualize Raz getting busy with a dude or that you CAN'T??
