Remember this: "The Bush administration based a crucial prewar assertion about ties between Iraq and Al Qaeda on detailed statements made by a prisoner while in Egyptian custody who later said he had fabricated them to escape harsh treatment, according to current and former government officials."

This new tale of four South Asians who traveled to Afghanistan to meet with bin Laden and this foiled attack reminded me of that.

It's hard, if not impossible, to trust what they tell us. Just when they need something to justify illegal wiretapping, this tale crops up. Just like when they needed an al Qaeda/Iraq link, that fella started talking.
