Has it been 15 years? Wow, time does fly. He certainly helped eased some of the stigma.

You know, those horrifying figures on the AIDS epidemic in the black community feeds the conspiracy theory that many blacks already believe--that HIV is some man made biological warfare to wipe out people of color. But too many folks in poverty use sex as their number one form of recreation, and if you use it without a condom, this is what happens. It's possible that the virus could wipe out large numbers of young black folks here--hetero and homo.

Wow..15 years...I remember that day very clearly... I was like "Magic Johnson?? Dayummmmm!"

I'm glad that he is doing well, and demonstrating that HIV can be a chronic manageable disease, and not a death sentence. I just wish that more people would recognize the seriousness of the epidemic in the Black community.
