The controversial and bizaare cult of the Church of Scientology adds another celebrity client to its ranks: Usher Raymond.
MediaTakeOut was among the first with the story: Usher's new beard bride Tameka Foster "is a devout Scientologist" and has convinced her new husband to raise "their new child to be a Scientologist as well. One source was quoted as saying, 'Usher's in training [to become a Scientologist] ... He thinks it's important to raise his baby as a Scientologist.' "
Meanwhile, new reports say Usher has begun "taking steps in his pursuit of Scientology" and recently "co-chaired a $1,500-a-plate fundraiser for both his New Look Foundation and Scientology’s controversial New York City Rescue Workers Detoxification Project in Las Vegas. The project claims to help Ground Zero workers detox with the help of saunas and vitamins instead of medication."
One of the co-chairs of Usher's charity, the New Look Foundation, is über-Scientologist and fellow newly-married heterosexual Tom Cruise. The Hollywood mega-star is the subject of a potentially explosive new biography that raises many questions on his marriage to Katie Holmes. Usher and Tom have so much in common. Their private conversations are undoubtedly quite colorful.

Usher's Confession: "I Don't Get Down Like That" [R20]
While to be honest, I don't know too about Usher or the Scientologist, and, since most religions have some kookiness to them, he can join right on up with them, freedom of religion!!
And, one thing about those sci-fi Scientologist, they sure know how to get the rich and famous to keep dropping coins into their collection plates.

Maybe he'll collaborate with Beck, or guest star on My Name is Earl.
