Producer of the moment-singer-songwriter-rapper-fashionista, and gay friendly environmental activist Pharrell Williams adds yet another hyphen to his skill set: Jewelry designer. PW continues his collaboration with Louis Vuitton to debut a new jewelry line, Blason, just in time for Valentine's Day. The pieces are yellow and white gold with diamonds andthe not-so-inexpensive "collection price tags range from $2,070 to $621,000 USD."
The collection is showcased is a luxurious new short film conceived by Pharrell. The art direction is Parsien luxe—plenty of velvets, antiques, and dramatic lighting. "I really got inspired by 'The Da Vinci Code' and the idea of freemasonry and secret societies in general," Pharrell explains to Black Voices. "That was basically the starting point, and the direct inspiration for the 'Blason'
The artsy video features a jazzy new track with Pharrell's vocals and co-produced with NERD. We're not the best experts on jewelry, so, someone else with better taste should feel free to weigh in, but, it's plenty over the top and that's what we like about Pharrell Williams.
In other news: PW teams up with his BFF Kanye West to hit the road on a new tour.
