For me, I could not care less that Prop 8 passed. Why? White gays have treated me, as a black gay man, horribly. I can't stand their attitudes; their assumptions that I want them (I'm usually minding my own damn business and they throw attitude ASSUMING I am trying to cruise them. The reality is that I am not paying attention to their asses). So , I was happy to see them get bitten in the tail by reality. Not everyone loves the GAYS (and I mean white Gays). They live in a fantasy world. But, that dream is OVER.

Eric

The mere fact that white gays so readily blame black folks entirely, as if there are no black gays, as if there were no blacks who voted against the marriage ban, shows you right off the bat that they have their community and we have ours.

We are only regarded as being apart of the “gay community” when they need votes. They’re just expressing what they’ve felt all along(why this is a surprise to any black gay I don’t know), they were just waiting for what they felt was a good reason to openly call you a N…. They have always thought you were. Please stop fooling yourself. Can it be anymore clear that we need to strengthen our own community(black gay community)? I think this week has made it perfectly clear that the idea of a "gay community" doesn't include black gays.

P.S.

Prop 8 would have passed even if blacks had not shown up to vote.

Al

I get sick and tired of People blaming the black community for their problems and short comings. we only represented 6 percent of the vote for prop 8 but we are getting the blame for it passing. I think the gay community should look at all of the registered gay voters who did not bother to vote. I'm glad this happened because it showed the black community that racism exist's in all communities. It's amazing how that ugliness sprouted it's head when people didnt get what they wanted. I am also sick and tired of gay people trying to equate their struggle with the civil rights struggle. Two totally different things! We could'nt hide our skin color but you could hide your sexual preference so stop trying to compare your struggle with ours and respect our history!

Al

Black People really need to strengthen their community whether is straigth or gay and then worry about others later because thats what they do!

lola

I think that in whole there needs to be more education in the black community about the gay community or nothing will change. There is still a stigma attached to it!!!

honestly i'm gay but i don't care about it. gay people haven't been able to get married forever, so why is it so different now? maybe i'm not as passionate about getting married as some people but you can't blame it on a whole race, because there were probably a lot more white people that voted against it. shit i'm gay and i can't stand gay people, so i would have probably voted against it lol. all those white cunts out there need to just get over it and let it be. everybody is always just looking for someone to blame. how many of the gay white people that were out there marching like the million fag march, actually voted? if ya'll weren't so concerned with planning your gay ass weddings maybe you could have gotten up and went to vote so that maybe your dumb asses could get married. you probably couldn't get up to vote that morning because you were probably too high on poppers and everything fucking thing else that you forgot it was election day you idiots. ugh i hate gay people. it makes me ashamed to be gay. i mean seriously how many of your marriages are actually going to last? you faggots can't even get along with other faggots, so what would make people thing you can get along in a marriage....honestly i hope they never legalize gay marriage, its one less thing i have to worry about. shit atleast i know that if me and my boyfriend broke up i wouldn't have to split everything 50/50. fuck a pre-nup lol. shit all of yall need to look on the bright side of things. with life throws you gay marriage bans....make lemonade.
