Outtakes from the July 2010 Kelly Rowland editorial in ELLE. The "Commander' diva is photographed at New York's W Hotel by Kelly Stuart in Fendi, Hervé Léger, and Jean Paul Gaultier. "I like to see what I have first, see what everyone else is doing, and then I put my own shake on stuff so it’s my own,” she explains.

Rowland and Diana Ross are in Singapore today and headline the grand opening of the Marina Bay Sands.
The "Commander" video dropped yesterday to rave reviews. The David Guettta-produced anthem officially debuts next week and is expected to hit the #1 position on the U.S club charts. Popwrap at the NY Post: "In addition to 'Commander,' two other songs will be simultaneously assaulting radio next week -- the urban radio track 'Grown Woman' and the pop/mainstream hopeful hit 'Rose Colored Glasses.' A trifecta of tracks that are bound to resonate in the radio ozone for a long time."

How did Kelly Rowland meet French super-producer Guetta? "'He was DJing in the place I was performing,'" Rowland explains in an extensive new interview with The
Scotsman. "'He played
the instrumental of When Love Takes Over and I heard it and lost my mind
so much I cried. I had to sing on that track.' ... After
working on the track with writers [and] rehearsing in a studio, she caught
the attention of Sylvia Rhone, president of Universal Motown Records,
who was next door working with Nelly. 'God puts us in the
right place at the right time. That's definitely what he did that day.'
When Rhone discovered she didn't have a label she signed her on the spot. 'And we've made a fantastic record.'"
The official music video for Kelly Rowland's FIFA World Cup theme song
"Everywhere You Go" debuts. The track features artists from across the continent—such as Samini,
Chameleone and Krotal and—who sing with Rowland and also appear in the Andrew Wessels-directed video. Unfortunately: The track is not included in the Listen Up! The Official 2010 FIFA World
Cup Album compilation available on iTunes.

Kelly is working!!!!
I love that she's stepped away from the "family" label and out of Beyonce's shadow and she's FINALLY finding her own "voice" as an artist! She, too, played a huge role in Destiny Child's success and I'm glad that she's getting her just rewards for years of hard work...WOOOOORK!

She needs to step out of all of that hair. She was the cutest one in the original Destiny's Child with that short cut. The shoot is boring at no fault to Kelly - the lack of fresh magazine editors not to mention NOT ONE Black Sittings/Fashion Editor at Elle, Vogue, Bazaar, Etc.

I really love Kelly and love that she has come into her own. I'm gonna cosign Kirk, the Elle shoot is meh. Pretty girl wearing pretty clothes in a hotel room. Yawn.
And let me cosign Cafflo, I love these music features on a single artist, the other day Janelle Monae and now Kelly. When do we get a JLS feature? :)
