The White House will once again host an LGBT Pride celebration later this month, reports Chris Johnson at the Washington Blade.
Two sources who are familiar with the event, and agreed to speak on condition of anonymity, said invitees were told to come June 29.
A White House official, who also spoke on condition of anonymity, said the celebration would take place before the month is out, but didn’t confirm the date and said further information isn’t yet available. "Later this month, the White House will hold a reception to observe LGBT Pride month," the official said. "Further details will be provided at a later date."
The 2011 event will mark the Obama Administration's third annual LGBT Pride reception. The guest list of the first and historic 2009 event was mostly comprised of national LGBT leaders. Guests at the 2010 reception were mostly state equality groups and youth LGBT leaders, including some students from historically Black colleges and universities.
Now this is something to come OUT for! How do I get on this list?
