New York City-based director Eddie Griffith has debuted a new web series KEN that explores one Brooklyn man's struggle with his sexuality and the church. Jarret Janako plays the title character "Ken." The series co-stars Krystal Farris, Travon McCall and Yarc Lewison.
The third episode "Climax" has just been released and it opens with a steamy scene. Will Ken give in to his desires? Or will he try to remain "sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost spirit"?
This is the final episode of KEN's first season. The producers will soon launch an Indiegogo campaign for funding. Watch the ep AFTER THE JUMP ...

Cute series. The acting is a little stiff and leaves something to be desired. The strongest acting is from the guy that plays Ken's trick. But I do like the premise of a "church boy" struggling with his sexuality. I'll be interested in seeing where they go with this. Not bad for a first effort.

Why is it this poorly written and acted? I feel like the cast needs to read some Baldwin or watch excerpts from "The Colored Museum". It's painful to watch. Black gay life doesn't have to be represented ALWAYS at the intersection of religiosity and sexuality. It's becoming a trope, which would be okay, if the trope was being reinvented in productive ways. This isn't the case with "Ken".
